Answers
Q:
What is Personal Storage Space (PSS)?
A:
Personal Storage Space (PSS) is the space allocated to you for storing your personal web page(s), eBay pictures, and/or files on our servers.
Q:
How much Personal Storage Space am I allowed?
A:
Each residential account has 1 GB of complimentary disk space allocated for Personal Storage Space. Anything over the 1 GB will be billed at a rate of $.05 per MB per each additional megabyte of storage, per month.
Q:
What can I do with my Personal Storage Space?
A:
Personal Storage Space is intended for personal website files, storage for pictures which are used in eBay auctions, or for simple file storage to transfer files from one computer to another via FTP. To upload personal webpage files or to transfer files to and from your Personal Storage Space, you will need an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program. Some examples of FTP programs are: WS_FTP, Cute FTP, Bullet Proof FTP, and Fetch. For instructions on setting up a basic homepage in your Personal Storage Space, please click HERE.
Q:
What happens if I exceed my complimentary 1 GB of disk space?
A:
The items which reside in your Personal Storage Space will still be accessible on the Internet as normal. However, anything over the 1 GB will be billed at a rate of $.05 per MB per each additional megabyte of storage, per month.
Q:
How is my Personal Storage Space calculated?
A:
Personal Storage Space is calculated by using the average of the total amount of data that your e-mail is occupying on our server over a thirty day period.
Please note that any files that reside in your E-mail Storage Space do not count towards your complimentary 1 GB of Personal Storage Space. For more information on your E-mail Storage Space click HERE.

Q:
Will I be notified if I exceed my complimentary 1 GB of Personal Storage Space?
A:
As a courtesy, PenTeleData will make an effort to notify you before you have used all of your complimentary 1 GB of Personal Storage Space. These notices will be sent to you via e-mail and are automatically generated by our system when you have used 90% of your complimentary 1 GB of Personal Storage Space.
Q:
I am receiving e-mail notifications that I am nearing my 1 GB of complimentary Personal Storage Space. What exactly does this mean?
A:
These notifications are automatically generated and sent by our system when you have used 90% of your complimentary Personal Storage Space. To avoid extra storage charges you should remove any files from your Personal Storage Space that you may no longer need (such as pictures from past eBay auctions).
Please note that your current Personal Storage Space usage is an average which is calculated over the last 30 days. Once you remove files from your Personal Storage Space, it may take some time for the average amount of storage space to drop below the level at which these notifications are automatically sent.

Q:
My Personal Storage Space usage appears high, what could cause this?
A:
High Personal Storage Space usage can be caused by a number of reasons.
Images from expired eBay auctions have not been removed:
If you use your Personal Storage Space to host images for your eBay auctions, you must be sure to remove any images after the auction expires. These image files will not be removed automatically and will remain in your Personal Storage Space until they are deleted manually.
If left on the server for extended periods of time, these files can raise your monthly average and result in additional disk space storage charges. To remove these files, log in to your Personal Storage Space using your File Transfer Program (FTP) and delete the files you no longer need.
Outdated or unneeded files from your Personal Web Page:
These files may be images you no longer display on your Personal Web Page, an image you have updated, or a page that you no longer provide a link to. Sometimes while updating your Personal Web Page files you may forget to delete a file from the server that may no longer be needed. If left on the server for extended periods of time, these files can raise your monthly average and result in additional disk space storage charges. To remove these files, log in to your Personal Storage Space using your File Transfer Program (FTP) and delete the files you no longer need.
Storing large files:
Another cause would be the storing of large files that were uploaded to your Personal Storage Space for the use of simple file transfer. These files may be a home movie or a copy of your favorite song. If left on the server for extended periods of time, these files can raise your monthly average and result in additional disk space storage charges. To remove these files, log in to your Personal Storage Space using your File Transfer Program (FTP) and delete the files you now longer need.
